Truman Sweeps SBU on Senior Day
The Truman State teams celebrated senior day with a sweep of Southwest Baptist Saturday at Pershing Arena. The Bulldog women played without their lone senior, but delivered the injured Sloane Totta an 80-66 victory. Totta hobbled out for the opening tip to at least take the floor for her senior day, but exited after the staged tip was immediately thrown out-of-bounds. It was Totta’s 110th game and start.
SBU hit back-to-back threes to lead 26-20 at the beginning of the second quarter. The Bulldogs responded with an 18-point run…..

Dean watched freshman guard Hannah Belanger connect on six triples and score 24 points. As a team, Truman was 13-of-26 from the arc. The win gave this Bulldog team the record for most conference wins in a season improving to 14-4 and 18-7 overall. The Bearcats drop back to .500 on the season and 7-11 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
On his senior day, Brodric Thomas scored 19 points, dished out seven assists, grabbed six rebounds and blocked three shots to lead Truman to an 83-59 blowout of Southwest Baptist. The Bearcats closed to within five early in the second half when the Bulldogs pulled away with a 21-5 run….

Horner and the Bulldogs still have the best record in the GLVC, with Missouri-St. Louis, at 14-4 and improve to 18-8 overall. Like the women, the 14 conference wins in a program record for a season. The Bulldogs also completed a sweep of all 11 games at Pershing Arena for the first home undefeated mark since the 1946-47 team. SBU drops to 12-6 in league play and 19-7 overall. The Truman teams head to St. Louis to play Maryville on Thursday night. You can hear the game on KRES starting at 5:00.
