The Truman State basketball teams extended their win streaks over rival Quincy and won on conference-opening night at Pershing Arena on Tuesday. The Bulldog women made it six in a row over the Hawks with a 74-54 victory. Leading 35-29 early in the third quarter, Truman went on a 12-0 run….

Maddie Re registered her third double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman Hannah Belanger scored a season-high 17 points connecting on five three-pointers. Sloane Totta added 13. The Bulldogs improve to 5-2, while the Hawks drop to 2-5. Truman is off until December 18th when they travel to Sioux Falls.

The Truman men won their fourth game in a row and fourth in a row over Quincy defeating the Hawks 69-59. Brodric Thomas scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds to pace the Bulldogs. Thomas picked up his third foul near the 17 minute mark and his team up nine. With Truman’s leading scorer on the bench, Quincy got to within 49-47 with 10:41 left. After a timeout, Thomas and Alex McQuinn came back in the game and the ‘Dogs went to work….

Turner Scott scored all 13 of his points in the second half and matched a career-high with seven assists. McQuinn established career highs with 12 points and eight rebounds for coach Jeff Horner….

Horner’s Bulldogs improve to 5-3. Tanner Stuckman led all scorers with 24. The Hawks drop to 3-3. The Truman men are off until December 20th when they travel to top ranked Northwest Missouri State. You can hear postgame interviews with both Truman coaches with this story at centralmoinfo.com.
