The Truman State men’s basketball team wraps up a grueling first semester schedule with reigning Division II champion Northwest Missouri State in Maryville Friday night. The Bearcats fell off the top perch of the national rankings when Central Missouri ended their 46-game winning streak on December 7th. The 9-1 ‘Cats have won 21 straight games at home, which is third most among D2 team. Bulldogs coach Jeff Horner wants a good tune-up heading into the remainder of the conference schedule….

Horner knows the Bearcats are a threat to repeat as champs even with some adversity…..

Horner and the Bulldogs have won four in a row to improve to 5-3. Brodric Thomas is averaging 24.4 points per game and went over the 1,000 point milestone two games ago. The Bearcats have their own 24 points per game scorer in Ryan Hawkins. Northwest has beat Truman the last two years by 20 points or more.
