Truman Playmaker Woods Discusses Signing With Saints

A day of disappointment for Lawrence Woods changed with one phone call on Saturday. The Truman State All-American kick returner and cornerback watched the final rounds of the NFL Draft with family and friends in St. Louis on Saturday all the way to the final pick.

Woods was one of 11 undrafted free agents to sign with the New Orleans Saints over the weekend. Woods said he had other offers.

Woods said resources were the only difference in comparing himself with Division I players.

Lawrence Woods set a Truman State career record with five kick returns for touchdowns. He attended McCluer South High School in St. Louis. Woods will report to Saints rookie camp next week, May 12-14th.
