Truman Opens New Data Science Lab

Truman State University held a ribbon cutting Tuesday for its new data science laboratory. Dr. Scott Alberts is the chair of the Statistics Department. He says students will be doing heavy-duty number crunching.

Several students just finished their masters programs, digging into large data sets to look at things like how banks estimate loan losses, how power plants operate, and how DNA strands might predict if someone might get cancer in the future.
