Truman Mens Basketball Begins At The GLVC-GMAC Crossover In Quincy

The 6th ranked Truman State men’s basketball team tips-off a new season against Cedarville, Ohio in the GLVC-GMAC Crossover Challenge at Quincy University on Friday. The Bulldogs are coming off an appearance in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight and a 20-3 record last season. Truman has qualified for back-to-back NCAA Tournaments and 4th year head coach Jeff Horner believes this is his deepest team….

Dylan Peeters emerged as a double-double machine last year leading the GLVC in rebounding at 9.4 per game and was second on the team with a scoring average just over 12 points. Coach Horner wants his 6-8 rim-chaser to have the confidence to pull up and shoot the ball….

Horner’s Bulldogs will play a Cedarville team that finished 12-9 in the last COVID-reduced season. Two years ago in this event, Truman upset nationally-ranked Findlay on their floor, only to lose to Cedarville the next day. The two programs have split their last four meetings. You can hear the Truman-Cedarville game Friday on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com starting at 4:45. It will serves as a prelude to our district championship football broadcast of the Highland at Marceline game immediately after hoops.
