Truman Men Win 6th Straight-Bulldog Women Lose In Overtime On Pink Out Day

The Truman men ran their winning streak to six games, while the Bulldog women forced overtime but came up short in a split with Missouri S&T at Pershing Arena today (Sat.).

The Truman men built a 12 point lead in the first half and kept the Miners from taking the lead in a 92-84 victory. S&T forced one tie in the second half and was down 78-76 when the Bulldogs scored five in a row to get some breathing room…

Brad and Hank with the call on Superstation KRES and Shearer also hit four late free throws to preserve the lead. Coach Jeff Horner pointed to the keys to victory….

Xavier Hall led Truman with 22 points, Kobi Williams had 19 and Brennan Lovette added 17. The Bulldogs improve to 10-6 in the GLVC and 13-11 overall.

The S&T women scored the final six points over overtime to leave with an 80-74 win. Truman forced the extra session by scoring the last ten points of regulation over the last four minutes….

Molly Joyce finished with 19 points. Ellie Weltha led all scorers with 21 and moved into 4th place on the Bulldog career scoring list with 1,591 points passing Felicia Sutton. The Miners scored 15 more points at the free throw line with 28 attempts to 11 for the Bulldogs. Coach Theo Dean said that made a difference….

The Bulldogs drop to 3-15 in the GLVC and 6-18 overall. Truman stays at home to host Illinois-Springfield on Thursday. You can hear the game on KRES starting at 5:00.
