Truman Looks To Bounce Back From Its First Loss Against The Miners

Truman State will attempt to rebound from its first loss of the season against the longtime rival Miners of Missouri S&T this Saturday in Rolla. The Bulldogs were a minus-three turnover margin in falling to Lindenwood 31-21 last weekend. Coach Gregg Nesbitt said penalties were also a factor….

S&T had two costly fourth quarter turnovers in a 31-28 loss at Quincy last week to drop to 3-2. Miners coach Todd Drury has the top offense in the GLVC, at over 500 yards a game, but said giveaways have offset some of the good….

Miners receiver Breon Michel has nine touchdown receptions in five games. Nesbitt said they have looked at coverages this week….

Former Westran Hornet Ben Miller is tied for the Truman team lead in sacks with two. The former KRES All-Star has had to adjust against the bigger collegiate lines….

Another former Lewis and Clark Conference standout, Isaiah Estes had a 49-yard scoop and score in the Bulldogs’ 42-31 win last spring in Rolla. The former Fayette Falcon is third on the team in tackles with 32. Ben Thomas of Blair Oaks High School leads Truman in tackles with 41 and has eight pass breakups.
