Truman LB McBroom Using Spring to Make Up For Missed Fall Season

An April football season may not seem like a big deal, unless it’s your last chance to play. That’s the case for Truman State linebacker Reed McBroom of Brookfield, who missed his final fall season due to the pandemic….

McBroom has already graduated with his masters degree from Truman…..

The First Team All-GLVC linebacker led the Bulldogs in tackles with 88 in 2019, including 12 behind the line of scrimmage, and 5-and-a-half sacks. McBroom is not only satisfying his craving to play football a few more games, but is also serving as a mentor to fellow area Bulldog ‘backers in Isaiah Estes of Fayette and Tanner Lain of Kirksville….

Reed McBroom was a two-time KRES All-Star at Brookfield High School. He and the Bulldogs won their season-opener at SBU last week 38-20. In the other West side pool game, Missouri S&T defeated William Jewell 49-28. Truman will host Jewell this Saturday night at Stokes Stadium. You can hear the game on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com starting with the Truman Tailgate at 6:30. The other West side game will have Southwest Baptist at S&T.

In the one East side game, over the weekend, Indianapolis shutout Quincy 38-0. This weekend, Quincy will play at McKendree. The top two teams in each pool will play for the GLVC championship.
