Truman Connection-NCAA Tournament
Northwest Missouri State will play Minnesota State on its home floor in Mankato in the NCAA Division II Central Region Championship Tuesday night. The Mavericks have two former Truman State starters in Dylan Peeters and Elijah Hazekamp. Both have started each game they’ve played. Peeters leads Minnesota State in rebounding at 7.0 per game, blocked shots with 33 and averages 10.7 points per game. Hazekamp averages 9.9 points per game and has made 52 three-pointers. That regional final will tip-off at 7:00.
Another former Bulldog is dancing with the Iowa State women’s basketball team. Hannah Belanger and the Cyclones are the 7 seed in the Portland 4 Regional and will play 10 seed Maryland this Friday night at 6:30, at Stanford, California. Belanger, who is Truman’s all-time leader in three-pointers, leads Iowa State from distance with 70 triples. She starts for the Cyclones and averages 9.4 points per game.
