Truman Comeback In Vegas Comes Up Short

A Truman comeback came up short in Las Vegas, as the Bulldogs fell to Pittsburg State 94-88. The ‘Dogs trailed by 14 with 9:52 left, but got to within two with just over two minutes left. CE Talton matched a pair of Gorilla free throws to keep it a two-point game. Pitt State canned four more free throws to make is 92-86 with 19 seconds left. Talton got a layup with 12 seconds left for the final score. The Monroe City native finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Brennan Lovette led the ‘Dogs with 19 points. The Gorillas shot 41 free throws, while Truman attempted just 19.

The Bulldogs drop to 3-6 and will play one more in Vegas against Central Missouri today (Tues.). Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00 central time.
