Truman Celebrates Homecoming And Starts GLVC Play Against The Miners

Truman celebrates homecoming and starts conference play against the oldest current rival on the schedule in Missouri S&T this Saturday at Stokes Stadium. The 3-1 Bulldogs didn’t play last weekend and coach Gregg Nesbitt says the open date allowed for some self evaluation. While the offense has lagged behind the other two phases, Nesbitt says film study revealed it wasn’t as bad as he thought….

It will be a homecoming of sort for first-year Miners coach Andy Ball, who was a member of Nesbitt’s staff from 2011 until 2014. Nesbitt says their relationship goes deeper….

Ball says Nesbitt’s influence on his coaching is still evident….

S&T is 2-3, after opening conference play with a 31-24 victory over Quincy last Saturday in Rolla. Nesbitt says the Miners are led by their defense….

This will be the 85th meeting between the two schools dating back to 1909. The Bulldogs have won the last three, including a homecoming win over the Miners in 2019 when Josh Scheiderer kicked the winning field goal with seven seconds left.

You can hear Saturday’s game on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com starting with the Truman Tailgate at 1:15. Brad, Eric, and Hank will have the call.
