Truman at UIndy for the GLVC Football Championship

The first-ever Great Lakes Valley Conference Football Championship game will take place Saturday night when Truman State visits Indianapolis. The Bulldogs went 3-0 to win the West Division, while the Greyhounds won both East side games. UIndy coach Chris Keevers says this championship game is the carrot he has dangled in front of his players to keep them engaged.

The Greyhounds have been the team to beat in the GLVC winning six of eight championships since football became a conference sport. Truman coach Gregg Nesbitt says his team will play with a slim margin for error.

UIndy has beaten Truman in six of seven games since the Bulldogs came into the GLVC. Coach Chris Keever says the two teams play the game the same way.

UIndy quarterback Bryce Stancombe was named GLVC Offensive Player of the Week. He has thrown for 600 yards in two games, completing 77% of his passes. Stancombe was ready for his shot at leading the Greyhounds offense in his fifth year with the program in 2019.

That’s Truman coach Greg Nesbitt, whose team is looking for the program’s first GLVC championship since sharing the title with Southwest Baptist in 2016. You can hear the Bulldogs’ game at Indianapolis on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com Saturday night starting with the Truman Tailgate at 5:30pm CT. Brad and Hank will have the broadcast.
