Truman At McKendree Features Two Teams Tied For 2nd In The GLVC
Two of the four teams tied for second place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference meet Saturday in Lebanon, Illinois, when Truman visits McKendree. Both teams are 3-2, tied with Indianapolis and Missouri S&T. The top GLVC team not in the NCAA playoffs gets a spot in the Crossroads Bowl.
The 7-2 Bulldogs will face a McKendree offense led by quarterback Turner Pullen, who has accounted for 28 touchdowns. Coach Gregg Nesbitt says he has the Bearcats on the move…..
Truman running back Cody Schrader is third in the country in yards (1436) and yards per game (159.6). Bearcats coach Mike Babcock says they have to figure out a way to limit the Truman ground game….
Truman cornerback Ben Thomas is the GLVC Defensive Player of the Week. Coach Nesbitt says the former Blair Oaks All-Stater receiver is using those skills on the other side of the ball….
McKendree is 4-5, after starting the season with three straight losses. Coach Babcock says part of their recent success is closing out games….
