Train Derails in Monroe County

A Norfolk Southern train derailed one mile East of Madison Thursday afternoon. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s twitter page, the train left Moberly and was traveling East to Decatur, Ill. when eight train cars derailed for an unknown reason. No injuries are reported and no hazmat was involved. The train cars were loaded with vehicles. No roadways were blocked.
