Train Derailment Involving Semi Closing Down Paris Main Street Crossing

A Norfolk Southern train derailed in Paris today at 11 am after it struck a semi, causing closures of the Main Street crossing. According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Corporal Justin Dunn, the semi was hauling a 196 ft. silo tank when it entered the intersection.

Dunn says those traveling through Paris should seek an alternate route.

Dunn says Norfolk Southern will conduct an internal investigation into the incident.
