Top Ten Showdown at South Shelby

Two of the top ten teams in Class 2 both try to stay undefeated on the season when 4th-ranked Monroe City visits 10th-ranked South Shelby for a Clarence Cannon Conference game Friday night. Monroe City coach David Kirby says South Shelby has a very good group of players, making this a tough task.

Kirby says his offense has to block well and execute.

Monroe City has three backs, Jayden Holland, Dylan Ross, and Quincy Mayfield, each averaging between 65 and 75 rushing yards per game.

The South Shelby Cardinals have outscored their first three opponents 147-18 heading into week four. Coach Adam Gunterman shares the defensive mentality.

Senior Kendall Hammond is leading the Cardinals in rushing and receiving yards, along with a team high 22 tackles. Gunterman talks about facing the Monroe City ground game.

Steven Findley Jr. and J.B. Connoley will have the broadcast on Glory 97.3 and centralmoinfo.com, with coverage beginning at 6:25.
