Tisius is in an isolation cell in the prison at Bonne Terre with his execution scheduled for 6:00 Tuesday night. Saturday, a federal court lifted a stay based on the argument that a member of the jury that sentenced him to death was illiterate, which is against Missouri law. That decision is being appealed and could result in another stay.
