This is the most popular time of year for door-to-door scams. Better Business Bureau Regional Director Don O’Brien says a good first step if you encounter a door-to-door salesperson is to ask for their licensing.

O’Brien also advises people to be aware of the FTC’s Three-Day Cooling-Off Rule.
