Doctor Eric Oseland supervises projects on Missouri Soybeans’ research farm east of Columbia. However, he says the most important experiments come from farmers testing products and techniques on their own land.
Oseland says additional tests could discover ways to increase yield and fight back against weeds and pests.
Missouri Soybeans Director of Agronomy and Research Eric Oseland suggests farmers start small, with test plots of about five acres. He also suggests applying tests to multiple rows with some degree of randomness, while ensuring consistent management for all other variables. Additional advice for farmers is available on Missouri Soybeans’ website.
