Three-Year-Old Dies in SUV Accident in Columbia

A three-year-old is dead after being ran over by an SUV. The accident took place at about 1pm Wednesday in Columbia when a 29-year-old female was backing into a private drive on the 1300 block of Carolina Ave. The juvenile male pedestrian ran into the path of the SUV while in motion and was struck by the rear passenger side of the vehicle. The juvenile was transported by ambulance to a local emergency room for advanced medical treatment, where he was pronounced dead. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected in this crash. The investigation is ongoing.
