6-9 center Cade McKnight earned Freshman of the Year honors in the Great Lakes Valley Conference by averaging 13 points and 5 rebounds per game. Coach Horner looks for his big man to continue to refine his offensive skills….

Junior guard Turner Scott led the team in assists and steals and averaged 9 points per game. During the first semester last season, Scott led the team in scoring, but his averaged tailed off when Thomas returned from injury and with the development of McKnight. Horner says that doesn’t need to happen…..

Horner gets former Stanberry standout Alex McQuinn back from a season missed by injury. The Bulldogs finished last year 14-15 and 9-9 in the GLVC, losing in the first round of the conference tournament to top seed Lewis. Truman will open the season this weekend at the GLVC/GMAC Challenge hosted by Findlay, Ohio. The Bulldogs will play the host team Friday at 4:00 central time. We will carry Findlay’s broadcast on KRES.
