Three Lewis and Clark Schools Preparing for State Golf Next Week
Marceline, Westran, and Salisbury are headed to the Class 1 boys state golf tournament in Springfield Monday and Tuesday. Marceline and Westran placed first and second in districts, respectively. Marceline coach Mike Severa reacts to the Tigers’ district championship.

Marceline’s Jacob Stallo and Lance O’Dell tied for third in districts. Westran senior Logan Bain claimed low medalist with a 75. Hornets coach Jeff Schleicher evaluates the back-to-back individual district champion Bain, who ended 17th at state last year.
Westran reached its sixth straight state tournament. The Hornets secured the state championship last year. Schleicher compliments Westran’s fellow Lewis and Clark schools.
Salisbury earned a state berth because four Panthers qualified in individual competition. Coach Kenny Wyatt praises the conference.
Salisbury sophomore Cooper Francis finished 14th at state last year. The Marceline coach Severa says he’s familiar with Rivercut Golf Course.
The Class 1 Lewis and Clark schools are joined by Cole Camp, Eugene, Gallatin, Linn, Lutheran (KC), and Thomas Jefferson Independent.
