The 2019-20 high school basketball season was a historic one for the Paris Lady Coyotes. Paris captured its first district title since 1996 with a 50-44 win at Clopton. They then reached the state quarterfinals by defeating conference rival Scotland County 47-37. Paris coach Garrett Thomas said the run to the state playoffs was a great experience for the girls.

The season came to an end for the Lady Coyotes in the quarterfinals with a 57-41 loss to Tipton. East Buchanan would go on to defeat Tipton in the Class 2 Championship. The Lady Coyotes featured four seniors on this year’s team; Tori Hamilton, Erin Heinecke, Elizabeth Cupp, and Delaney Wheelan. Thomas reflects on what this senior class means.

Hamilton led the Lady Coyotes this season, averaging 23.3 points per game. She will continue her basketball career at SIU-Edwardsville. Junior Nicole Skinner was second on the team by averaging 12 points per game.
