This Time Truman Loses at the Buzzer-Bulldog Women Cruise

This time a last second shot went against Truman. In Indianapolis Saturday, hometown kid Jimmy King capped his senior day by driving the length of the floor with five seconds left and beat the buzzer off the glass to give the Greyhounds an 83-82 victory. Turner Scott, who beat Bellarmine at the buzzer on Thursday, was in line for his third straight game-winner when he hit two free throws with five seconds left for a one point Truman lead.

The Bulldogs trailed by 12 early in the second half, but despite foul trouble that took Cade McKnight out of the game, rallied to take the lead…..

Brad Boyer with the call on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com. Brodric Thomas scored 22 points and Hunter Strait added 21 for Truman. ‘Dogs coach Jeff Horner said they couldn’t finish off a big road win….

Horner’s team had their six-game winning streak stopped. The Bulldogs drop to 17-7 and 13-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. They still have the top record in the GLVC but drop to second in the Point Rating Standings, three-hundredths of a point behind the Greyhounds. UIndy (you-IN-dee) improves to 19-5 and 11-5 in the GLVC.

The Truman women held Indianapolis to six first half field goals and rode the strong defense to a 69-53 win. The Bulldogs built a double digit lead early in the second quarter and the margin stayed in double figures the rest of the way…..

Maddie Re notched her eighth double-double of the season with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Hannah Belanger and Katie Jaseckas both scored 13, Katey Klucking added 11 and Sloane Totta had nine assists. The Bulldogs improve to 13-3 in the GLVC and 17-6 overall, and move up to third in the Point Rating Standings while holding the second best record in the league. The Greyhounds drop to 10-6 in league play and 17-7 overall. Truman will next play undefeated and top ranked Drury on Thursday. Doubleheader coverage will begin at 5:30 on KRES.
