Mexico School Superintendent Dr. Zach Templeton recently announced his retirement from the position at the end of the current school year. Templeton had served as Mexico Superintendent for the past three years. Prior to that, he served five years as Assistant Superintendent for Mexico. Templeton explains the decision behind his retirement.

Templeton’s wife and son moved to Brentwood, Tennessee last year after his wife took a job as a division president for Compassus Incorporated. Templeton reflects on his time as Mexico Superintendent.

The district also began work earlier this year on a turf project for the athletic fields. Templeton says one educational element stands out during his tenure as superintendent.

Templeton plans to help the Mexico School Board as much as possible in the search for a new superintendent. The new superintendent will take over the position in July.
