TARIFFS IMPACTING MISSOURI FARM INCOME
November 15, 2019 9:30AM CST
The year-long trade war with China and ensuing tariffs have impacted Missouri farmers and businesses. Tariffs Hurt The Heartland and Farmers For Free Trade highlighted the cost at an event Wednesday at Union Station in Kansas City. Brian Kuehl of Farmers for Free Trade says there’s another way to see tariffs.
Kuehl says tariffs go both ways, as retaliatory tariffs reduce America’s market access to critical markets. He warns that other nations have stepped in to fill the gap.
Brian Kuehl of Farmers for Free Trade adds that the group is pushing for passage of the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement, ensuring access to America’s neighbors for many of our ag exports.
