The Boone County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a suspect in relation to a double homicide. Family members reported late Sunday they had been unable to contact 43-year-old Allison Abitz or 11-year-old Jozee Abitz. Their bodies were found inside their home on Lavender Drive, just south of Columbia. Investigators have learned 45-year-old JT McLean was the long-term boyfriend of Allison and is the last person known to be in contact with both subjects at the residence. Probable cause was developed and the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney has charged McLean with two counts of first degree murder. A warrant has been issued with a one million dollar cash only bond. McLean has changed his name in the past and has been known to go by John McLean, Steven McLean and Steven Nagy. He is a white male and approximately 5’9, 210 lbs with green eyes and brown hair. He most recently grew his hair out but has been known to shave his head bald. McLean was last known to reside on County Road 355 in Fulton and is an over the road truck driver by trade. Anyone with information on McLean’s whereabouts or the investigation is asked to call the Boone County Sheriff’s Office at (573) 442-6131 or CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-TIPS to remain anonymous.
