A Columbia man faces charges of armed criminal action and assault in connection with the shooting in downtown Columbia early Sunday morning that left another suspect dead and five people injured. Columbia Police say 28-year-old Todd Nesbitt was one of the two men who exchanged gunfire with each other shortly after 3 outside Vibez Lounge on North Fifth. The other man ran from the scene, still firing his gun towards the crowd. Two officers fired at him, killing him. Five people injured by the initial gunfire were all listed in stable condition. Police have not yet released the dead shooter’s name, and the State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation into his death.
