The Macon girls meet Licking in a Class 3 state semifinal on KWIX Friday. 24-4 Macon defeated Maryville in the quarterfinals Saturday to earn its first Show-Me Showdown trip since 2010. Head coach Richard Driscoll scouts 24-6 Licking.

Licking beat Saxony Lutheran 52-46 in the quarterfinals. The Lady Wildcats allow just 38 points per game. Driscoll discusses the offensive approach against Licking’s zone defenses.

Macon’s Lexi Miller scored 28 Saturday, including the go-ahead shot with 35 seconds left. Licking head coach Steve Rissler returns four starters from last year’s fourth place Lady Wildcats.

Licking’s two-time All-State guard Karlee Holland averages 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists per game. Rissler reveals he and Driscoll are former colleagues.

Rissler’s Licking team topped Driscoll’s then-Hartville team in the 2013 district championship.
