The Missouri Supreme Court unanimously ruled today (Thur.) that the Medicaid expansion initiative approved by voters is constitutional, overturning a June lower court ruling. Cole County Circuit Court Judge Jon Beetem had earlier ruled it was unconstitutional because there was no funding mechanism. Three women sued when lawmakers and the governor failed to fund Medicaid expansion. It was supposed to take effect July First, and make about 275 thousand more Missourians eligible for Medicaid.
