At the start of this school year, Monroe City School Superintendent Dr. Tracy Bottoms organized a Superintendent Advisory Council for the district. The council is comprised of select middle school and high school students at Monroe City, who meet quarterly with Bottoms to discuss the various happenings in the district. Bottoms says the goal of the council is to develop a connection with the students.

It also gives these students an idea of the inner-workings of the Monroe City School District. Bottoms says there was one particular topic of discussion during their first quarter meeting.

Bottoms gave a recap of the first quarter meeting during last week’s Monroe City School Board meeting.
