STURGEON SCHOOL BOARD CONSIDERING FOUR-DAY SCHOOL WEEK
October 21, 2019 10:30AM CDT
Several topics of discussion were brought up at the October meeting of the Sturgeon School Board. Sturgeon Superintendent Geoffrey Neill says among them were considerations for alternative scheduling.
The Sturgeon School District has considered moving to a four-day school week in the past. Many school districts in Missouri have made the switch as a cost-saving measure. Neill says if Sturgeon goes to a four-day week it would be for a different purpose.
The Sturgeon School District currently goes a half day on Mondays for professional development purposes. Further discussion on switching to a four-day week is expected to take place at the next Sturgeon School Board meeting November 14th.
