State Returners Lead Mexico Bulldog Wrestling in 2021-22 Season

With four state wrestlers returning from last season, expectations are high once again for the Mexico boys wrestling team. The Bulldogs are led by returning state champion at 126 pounds, Keith Ransom. Mexico coach Gayle Adams says Ransom has had to adjust to a new weight class this season.

Ransom recently committed to continue his wrestling career at Cleveland State University. Another state returner is senior Jokiah Sewell, who placed fifth last season. Adams says Sewell is motivated to finish higher this season.

Adams says the college commitments of Ransom, Sewell, and past Mexico grapplers gives the underclassmen something to strive for.

Other state returners for Mexico are seniors Ricardo Juarez and Deacon Haag. Mexico’s next scheduled competition is scheduled for December 29th when they compete in the Hillsboro Holiday Dual Tournament.
