State Fairgrounds Now Subject To Face Mask Requirement

Exhibitors and campers making their way to Sedalia for the Missouri State Fair will need to pack their face masks. As a result of an emergency rule passed Wednesday night by the Pettis County Health Board of Trustees, visitors to the fairgrounds, as well as Sedalia and the surrounding area, will need to wear face coverings in public areas unless they can “absolutely maintain” a distance of six feet from others. A statement posted on the fair’s website notes that the opportunity does exist for social responsibility and situational awareness on the fairground’s 400 acres. The fair will have free masks available upon request, as well as hand washing stations throughout the fairgrounds. Additional details are available on the Missouri State Fair website. Competitions kick off Tuesday with market poultry and goat showmanship, and continue through August 23rd.
