State Fair Entries, Carnival Receipt Totals Make Significant Jump

Dairy cattle and rabbits were both up by over 30 percent, as were apiculture, country hams and bacons, and horticulture exhibits. Wolfe adds that the carnival midway also posted several record days.

This year’s State Fair attendance was up 2.5 percent from last year, marking the second straight year of an increase. Ticket revenue was also up this summer, in part from gate admission increasing to $15.
