During Missouri Governor Mike Parson’s daily briefing a variety of state departments gave updates on what they are doing to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. After an overly busy weekend in Missouri’s state parks, the Department of Natural Resources Director Carol Comer says they are taking some extra measures to prevent overcrowding at parks.

In addition, the gates to individual parking lots at state parks will close when the lots reach capacity. Meanwhile, the Missouri Department of Corrections is reporting no positive cases of the virus among their staff or the state’s prison population. Director Anne Precythe says the department is working to help in any way they can during this pandemic.

Late last week Governor Parson mobilized the Missouri National Guard to help with the coronavirus response. Parson provided an update on what they’ve been doing since they were mobilized.

Among these potential locations are the Hearnes Center in Columbia, the Dome at Amerca’s Center in St. Louis, and the Kemper Arena in Kansas City. Missouri has reached over 1,300 cases of the coronavirus and 14 deaths.
