Sporadic Patches Of Abnormal Dryness Linger

Five parts of Missouri remain in abnormal dryness, including one area of south central Missouri that continues to experience moderate drought. USDA’s weekly Drought Monitor indicates that pre-drought conditions continue to cover a majority of Nodaway County and northern Andrew County in northwest Missouri, Macon and Randolph counties in northeast Missouri, and nearly all of Carter, Oregon, and Ripley counties in south central Missouri. Smaller patches also remain that impact parts of Callaway, Cole, Franklin, Osage, Saint Charles, and Warren counties. Moderate drought is now limited to western Carter, southeastern Shannon, and northeastern Oregon counties, accounting for 0.53% of Missouri’s area. 6.73% percent of Missouri continues to experience abnormal dryness, down over nine points from a week ago.
