Dominic Stoneking ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more to lead Moberly to a 35-0 victory over Fulton Friday night at Dr. Larry K. Noel-Spartan Stadium. It was a total turnaround for the Spartans, who were upset by the Hornets at Fulton in week four.

The Spartans scored on their first two possessions on a pair of one-yard runs by Stoneking and Jarrett Kinder. Late in the first quarter, after a blocked punt, Moberly cashed in….

That was Jacksyn Miller’s first varsity touchdown reception and it made the score 21-0 after one. Stoneking scored on a 12-yard run in the second quarter and added another TD pass to lead the Spartans to five scores in five possessions….

In the first game, freshman quarterback Courtland Simmons rushed for 274 yards and four touchdowns against the Spartans. This time he was held to 14 yards rushing….

McDowell and the Spartans improve to 7-3. Moberly will travel to St. Charles to play Lutheran next Friday night in a game that can be heard on KWIX. The Hornets finish the season 3-7.
