South Shelby and Brookfield will faceoff in a Clarence Cannon Conference doubleheader Tuesday night. In the girls game the South Shelby Ladybirds’ youth will be countered by the experience of the Brookfield Lady Bulldogs. The Ladybirds have lost five of their last six games. South Shelby girls coach Luke O’Laughlin analyzes his team’s play during this recent stretch.

South Shelby is 10-11 overall and 1-3 in Clarence Cannon Conference play. Brookfield also comes into the contest having lost five of their last six. Brookfield coach Tony Fairchild says he’s looking to the Lady Bulldogs veteran leadership to guide them in this matchup.

The Lady Bulldogs are 10-10 overall and 1-3 in conference play. In the boy’s game. South Shelby will look to gain some momentum heading towards district play. The Cardinals come in with an overall record of 4-16 and are 0-4 in CCC action. Their offense has been held under 40 points in each of the last four games. South Shelby boys coach Luke O’Laughlin says they will need to slow the game down in order to be successful against Brookfield.

After a promising start to the season, the Brookfield Bulldogs have dropped six straight games. They are 10-10 overall and are also winless in conference play. Brookfield coach Carey Davison says they need to get back to basics defensively when it comes to dealing with South Shelby’s top scorers, Guy Timbrook and Cole Mitchell.
