South Shelby Girls Win District Championship in Thrilling Fashion
The South Shelby Lady Birds edged out the Palmyra Lady Panthers 59-55 in a thrilling Class 3 District 6 final at Monroe City today. Palmyra jumped out to an early nine-point lead. South Shelby started clawing back to trim the deficit to five to make it 17-12 in favor of Palmyra after the first quarter. The Lady Birds went on to outscore the Lady Panthers 18-12 in the second quarter to take a 30-29 lead into halftime.
