South Shelby Blitzes Milan in Varsity Sweep
South Shelby completed a courtwarming sweep of Milan Friday night.
The South Shelby boys used a big third quarter to pull way from the Wildcats in a 57-36 finish. Milan senior Jared Gonzalez connected from deep in the first half to keep his team to within striking distance.
Steven Findley Jr with the call on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com. The Cardinals led by eight at the half. An 11-0 run to open up the third quarter created separation for South Shelby.

Gonzalez and fellow senior Ahmet Niasse both contributed 15 points for the 2-13 Wildcats. Coach Andrea Dabney said her team didn’t produce enough on the offensive end
South Shelby earns its second straight victory to advance to 10-8.
The Ladybirds took down the Lady Cats 68-24 in the opener. Juniors Callie McWilliams and Belle Roush led the offensive effort.
McWilliams finished with a team-high 26, accompanied by Roush with 24 points. Coach Luke O’Laughlin.
Milan leading scorer Marian Dabney was limited to 10 points in the loss as the Lady Cats drop to 9-7. The Ladybirds improve to 14-5.
