Solution To Rising Feed Costs May Already Be Growing In The Pasture

The increasing costs of feed and fertilizer prices have cattle producers needing to find more cost-efficient ways to feed their herds.  Eric Bailey, University of Missouri Extension beef specialist, says a solution to the issue may be growing in the field at this moment.

Bailey says a hay test available through Extension is key to ensuring that feed quality remains the same.

MU Extension Beef Specialist Eric Bailey adds that farmers should begin planning now for winter feeding, noting that feed prices have not reacted as fast to the recent downturn in corn and soymeal futures.
