Sixth-Seeded Marion County Stuns Second-Seeded North Shelby, Canton Blows Out La Plata

Marion County’s Halle Keilholz knocked down five threes and helped lead the sixth-seeded Lady Mustangs to a 55-47 upset win over the second-seeded North Shelby Lady Raiders in the Class 1 District 11 semifinals Wednesday. In a second half that saw numerous third quarter lead changes, it was Keilhoz’s ability from long range that proved to be the difference maker.

For North Shelby, Lilly Cook led with 17 points and Caroline Linberger scored 15. Coach Landon Daniel said he’s already looking forward to next year’s matchup.
