November is National Adoption Month and the ‘Shine a Light for Adoption’ event takes place this Sunday night at the First Baptist Church in Moberly. Karla Veal says the need for foster parents in the community is significant.

Veal and her husband have fostered three children and adopted two of them.

The Veals began fostering their second son in June 2018. He was diagnosed with leukemia in the summer of 2019 and they adopted him a couple months later.

The ‘Shine a Light for Adoption’ event runs Sunday night from 6:30 until 7:30. You are encouraged to turn on your porch light or host a candlelight vigil to show your support and raise awareness. You can share your photos and videos on Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #Shine4MOAdoption.
