A farm family in Leonard is the newest recipient of a statewide conservation award. Joshlin and Addie Yoder were named the 2020 Aldo Leopold Conservation Award winners Saturday by the Sand County Foundation and Missouri Farmers Care. According to the groups, the Yoders began operating their family farm in 2008 and quickly made the decision to invest in soil health, ensuring viable and productive land could be passed down to future generations. Their operation now includes beef cattle and 11-hundred acres of corn, soybeans and hay. The Yoders will receive the award, including a ten-thousand dollar prize, at the annual Missouri Cattle Industry Convention in Osage Beach.
