Shelby County Celebrates Two Years Without Fatal Crash

Shelby County is celebrating two years without a fatal traffic accident. North Shelby teacher Jennifer Chandler says the streak has an unfortunate beginning.

The school district got a lot of insight on roadway safety and leadership through a Traction conference sponsored by MoDOT. Chandler had high words of praise.

At the conference, each team sets a mission to put into action. Chandler says their team focused on Buckle Up, Phone Down and a new concept: Speak Up.

Chandler says speaking up also relates to drivers when their passengers are being unsafe.
