Easter is this Sunday and the COVID-19 Pandemic is putting a wrench in everyone’s plans. Shelby County Health Administrator Audrey Gough understands the importance of the religious holiday.

Most health departments in the country are discouraging going to religious services over the weekend, especially if there is more than 10 people congregating into one spot. Gough says a lot of the churches in their area are making efforts to provide a livestream for their services.

As for in-house gatherings, Gough says any celebrations should only be held with those who live within your residence.

Gough does encourage you to cook your traditional foods for the celebrations and also arrange a time to eat dinner as a family via video conference.

Shelby County has had one positive case of coronavirus, but that patient has since recovered.
