Moberly beat Mexico 35-23 on Senior Night to finish the regular season 6-3 and secure a district home game. The Spartans gained control with less than two minutes left in the first half.

Moberly later recovered a Mexico fumble in the middle of the third, and Dominic Stoneking connected with Jared Herron for a 24-yard touchdown pass on the next play. Spartans head coach Cody McDowell evaluated the performance.

Herron recorded his first career touchdown on Senior Night, and Stoneking also tossed a 12-yard touchdown to senior Aidan Hannam for Hannam’s first career score. Moberly played a turnover-free game and committed just two penalties.

The Spartans rushed for an unofficial 139 yards, and Stoneking completed five of seven passes for 77 yards. Haag’s Bulldogs closed the regular season 4-5.

Dante Billups paced Mexico with 133 rushing yards, and Ty Prince scored twice on the ground. Moberly hosts Fulton in the district quarterfinals while Mexico visits Wright City. Hear the full postgame interviews below.
