Missouri Governor Mike Parson has announced that a person from Jackson County is the second fatality in the state from the coronavirus. During his daily news conference, the governor also indicated that because of expanded testing, more positive results will be coming in.

Parson calls this a public health emergency.

The order is being finalized, with more details to be announced Saturday.

State Department of Health and Senior Services Director Dr. Randall Williams addressed testing.

During the news conference, the governor again emphasized the importance of personal responsibility in social distancing to help in this effort.
